What to Expect When You Request Deletion
Because Borderless operates as an Employer of Record (EOR) managing employment contracts, payroll, and taxes, there are legal constraints regarding data deletion:
Identity Verification: For your security, our team will ask you to verify your identity before processing any account closure or data deletion request.
Mandatory Data Retention: We cannot delete all data immediately. Borderless is legally required to retain specific payroll, tax, compliance, and employment records for mandatory periods dictated by local and international corporate laws.
Secure Backups: While your active account will be deactivated and eligible data removed from our primary systems, some personal data may securely remain in encrypted, archived backups until those systems are routinely cycled and purged.
