What is a People Manager?
A People Manager in Borderless can review and take action on requests from their team, including:
- Time off
- Expenses
- Contractor invoices
Your access is limited to your direct (and indirect) reports.
How it works
1. Account setup
You’ll receive an email invitation to join Borderless.
- Click Accept Invite and follow the steps to access the platform.
2. Complete onboarding
Follow the onboarding steps to complete your setup.
👉 If you are not paid through Borderless, you can skip these steps.
3. Access your team
Your admin will assign you to your reports.
👉 If you don’t see your team on the Hires page, contact your admin to confirm they have completed the initial setup process.
What you can do
As a People Manager, you can:
- View your team
- Approve or reject:
- Time off requests
- Expense submissions
- Contractor invoices
Notifications
You’ll receive notifications when your team submits requests.

- One notification per request
In platform
- “Things to do” shows pending approvals
Important to know
- You will only see your assigned team
- If you don’t see any requests, your admin may still need to assign you to your reports
