Note: Payroll Contributions are available only if your company offers this benefit.
What are payroll contributions?
Payroll contributions are voluntary deductions made directly from your pay each cycle.
You control how much you want to contribute and can update or stop anytime.
How to submit or change a contribution
Go to Payroll Contributions in the left sidebar
Click Submit request
Select Contribution type
Enter the contribution amount
Submit
Can I submit multiple requests in the same period?
You can technically submit multiple requests within the same period, but only the latest submission will be reviewed and applied.
The reviewer (Borderless CSM) will evaluate your most recent request before lock date and disregard any earlier ones.
If you want to adjust your contribution again before it’s reviewed, simply submit a new request. There’s no need to cancel the previous one.
When do requests apply?
Requests submitted before the monthly lock date (10th, 4 PM UTC) apply to the upcoming payroll
Requests submitted after that time apply to the following payroll
You’ll always see the current lock date banner at the top of the page.
What do start and end dates mean?
Start date: The payroll period when your new contribution begins
End date: Only appears if your contribution is being ended
Ongoing contributions have no end date
What do the statuses mean?
- In Review: Your request was submitted and is awaiting internal review
- Approved: Your contribution has been approved and scheduled for the next eligible payroll cycle
- Processed: Your contribution has been included in payroll and reflected on your pay stub
- Rejected: The request was declined (for example, due to minimum-wage compliance)
How to stop a contribution
To stop your contribution, submit a new request with your contribution amount set to 0.00.
If submitted before the lock date, your contribution will stop in the current pay cycle
If submitted after the lock date, it will stop in the following pay cycle
You’ll see this reflected in the request’s End date once approved.
How can I track my history?
You can view all previous requests in the Payroll Contributions page. Each record shows:
Submitted date
Contribution type
Amount
Status
Start / End dates
Why might a request be rejected?
The contribution amount would reduce your remaining pay below local minimum wage.
The contribution amount would be less than the minimum amount for the local currency.
